A CIA spokesperson's statement said the agency's officers responded to a "security situation" outside the main gate and the facility remained secure. The man was in a standoff with authorities outside the CIA headquarters entrance until around 6 p.m., when the person came out of his vehicle with a weapon, the FBI's Washington Field office said. Officers fired at the man, who was wounded and sent to the hospital. On Tuesday, the FBI said the man had died at the hospital. The victim has not been publicly identified by authorities. The FBI is investigating the agent-involved shooting, per agency policy. "The review will carefully examine the circumstances of the shooting and collect all relevant evidence from the scene," the field office stated. "As the review remains ongoing, we cannot provide any additional details at this time."
