TOMS RIVER, NJ — For 125 years, volunteers in the community have been helping to protect homes and businesses as part of Toms River Fire Company 1. In June, the fire company will host a block party and parade in downtown Toms River to celebrate its milestone. The event, planned for June 12, is expected to include music by students from The Music Academy and from Kickin Nash, food, crafts, children's activities and memorabilia for sale. The parade is set to begin at 10 a.m. on Hooper Avenue, and the block party on Robbins Street follows until 5 p.m. The fire company is seeking sponsors for the 125th anniversary celebration.
