PLEASANTON, CA — All Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies, including in Pleasanton, are offering COVID-19 vaccines. Walmart, which operates Sam's Club, announced Tuesday that all 308 pharmacies in California would offer vaccines to walk-ins and by appointment. A membership is required to shop at Sam's Club, but the vaccine is available to nonmembers, too. In Pleasanton, Walmart pharmacies are located at 4501 Rosewood Drive and 3112 Santa Rita Road. Nationwide, more than 5,100 Walmart and Sam's Club pharmacies will offer the vaccine. Nearly 4,000 of those pharmacies are administering vaccines in medically underserved areas, according to Walmart. "Now that supply and eligibility have expanded, it's even more important for us to reach underserved and vulnerable populations to ensure equitable distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine," said Dr. Cheryl Pegus, Walmart executive vice president of health and wellness, in a statement. "Widespread vaccination is the only way we will eventually end the pandemic and help our country reopen, and we don't want anyone to get left behind as we enter this new chapter in our fight against COVID-19." Pharmacies will offer the Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, all of which have been approved for emergency use by federal officials. Nearly 31 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in California. How To Schedule A COVID-19 Vaccine Appointment Walmart and Sam's Club will offer vaccinations to people with scheduled slots and will vaccinate walk-ins as supply allows. To guarantee your spot, make a Walmart appointment here or a Sam's Club appointment here. Sam's Club pharmacies are closed Sundays, but Walmart pharmacies are open daily.
