Press release from the Chamber Collaborative of Greater Portsmouth: May 3, 2021 DISCLAIMER: The following content wasn't created by, but is being shared by the Chamber Collaborative on behalf of a member. WSCA News: Serving the Seacoast Since 2004 Spring has arrived! It's time for a new beginning complete with inoculations... but also morning walks, evening strolls, farmer's markets, firing up the grill, and of course listening to Portsmouth Community Radio, WSCA 106.1 FM. We know the last 14 months have been tough for everyone, which is why we're so very grateful to everyone that's donated to WSCA, allowing us to continue live programming during this ongoing pandemic. We may not have all our deejays on air just yet, but by establishing health and safety protocols at the radio station, many have returned and we have even more new shows on the way soon -- some within the next month, so stay tuned for more programming news coming soon. UPDATE: Granite Rodeo, a weekly roundup of all things music made, influenced, and/or inspired by the Granite State, moves to Thursday afternoons at 4pm. Nocturnal, an unprocessed freeform radio show featuring new music and eclectic hubbub from then & now, moves to Tuesday afternoons at 4pm. Blues Power, a mix of contemporary blues music, classic favorites, acoustic blues, instrumentals, British blues, and everything in between, now airs Monday mornings at 8am. More updates next month! WSCA ON DEMAND Since the beginning of this pandemic, we've been offering many documentaries about music and musicians. WSCA receives 50% of all the rental fees, which is a great way to help support us while the Button Factory Stage remains closed. WSCA's On Demand film library helps us make a few extra bucks -- our most recent film is CROCK OF GOLD, which details Shane MacGowan's explosive existence, from his salad days, growing up in Ireland, to time spent on the mean streets of London and embracing the punk scene to forming the Pogues. You can get tickets here or see what else is available here. DEMOCRACY NOW MOVES TO MORNINGS Democracy Now! is a daily, global, independent news hour hosted by award-winning journalists Amy Goodman and Juan González. Their reporting includes breaking daily news headlines and in-depth interviews with people on the front lines of the world's most pressing issues. Listen every morning at 7am on WSCA.
