WEST SAINT PAUL, MN— A West Saint Paul resident removed his locally-famous "Black Lives Matter" mural on Monday, Pioneer Press reported. Ryan Weyandt was given multiple deadline extensions before the mural, which was painted in September, was removed, the publication reported. City code prohibits fences from being more than one color or having words or pictures, but since the fence's original design endorsed a local political candidate, it was deemed okay until after the 2020 election was over, and then got extensions due to weather concerns, the publication reported. "It's a shame and it's unfortunate," Weyandt told Pioneer Press.
