CHARLOTTE, NC — At least five people were injured in a morning crash that snarled traffic along Interstate 485 in southeast Charlotte Tuesday, according to reports.
The accident scene was "very serious," according to first responders.
The crash occurred before East John Street along the inner loop of I-485 around 8:30 a.m., WSOC reported.
"We are working on transporting those most critical now," Mecklenburg Emergency Medical Services Agency said. "We are departing ambulances and working with our partners to clear the scene. Be patient [as] this accident is very serious."
One person had a life-threatening injury, and four had serious injuries, WJZY reported. By 10 a.m., the inner lanes had reopened, the station said.
