This is Arty, he is 6 years old. (I call him Freckles) Even though that sounds old, it really isn't. Freckles has the ideal amount of energy. He is past his over energetic Puppy stage but still has a lot of time before reaching the old dog stage. Freckles is an awesome companion. He wants to be your buddy, but is willing to give you your space. I spent the morning with him last week and we had the best time running errands. He loves the car and is an excellent passenger. When we went places he just walked right along with me (no pulling) and wasn't phased by anything. We even went into a warehouse to pick up some supplies and he just soaked it all in. When we ate on a restaurant patio, he looked at all the people but didn't beg or react. Arty has freckles like a Catahoula leopard dog. That is VERY possible, but I think he maybe a Lab that had some oil spilled on his face resulting in scars. Arty had a bad experience with a Chihuahua which resulted in the little dog having to go for emergency surgery. For this reason your family can't have small children (under 12), or small animals. If you have another dog, Arty needs to meet them before he goes home with you. If you think Arty might be a good match for you, he is at the Maricopa County Animal Shelter. There is a small adoption fee, but it includes all his shots, his neuter surgery, a microchip and a year of registration.
