WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police have arrested a 24-year-old city man following an armed home invasion inside the Great Brook Valley complex in April. The incident happened Wednesday when a man broke into a home along New Vista Lane, threatened the people inside with a gun and then stole items from the home — including a vehicle that belonged to a resident. Worcester police responded to the home after getting an alert via the ShotSpotter gunshot detection system. Worcester police said an investigation led them to identify a Montrose Street man as the main suspect. He was spotted late Sunday night getting into a cab along Mason Street. An officer pulled the car over near Piedmont and Chandler street and arrested the man without incident. The 24-year-old was charged with four counts of armed home invasion, four counts of armed robbery, two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon, unauthorized use of a vehicle and several gun law violations.
