Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 05/04/2021 211240303 Preliminary Information: On 5/4/21, around 6:19 am, officers responded to an accident at the location of Moreland Ave SE and Custer Ave. Upon arrival, officers located a Dekalb EMS Ambulance and a Semi-truck involved in the collision. The driver of the ambulance sustained minor injuries and the female passenger had to be extracted from the vehicle by Grady EMS and Fire who responded on scene. She was transported to the hospital with leg injuries. Preliminary investigation indicates the Ambulance was en route to a call with lights and sirens activated when the driver of a Semi-truck suddenly stopped short in front of the ambulance resulting in a rear end collision. No charges are anticipated at this time.
