Press release from the Atlanta Police Department: 05/04/2021 Update: Next of kin has been notified and the driver was identified as Mathew Mueller DOB 11/72 No charges are expected in this case  Previously Released:  211231842 On 5/3/21, around 11:30 pm, officers responded to 2267 Jonesboro Rd in reference to a traffic fatality. Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle involved in a single collision. The driver was confirmed deceased on scene by Grady EMS. Preliminary investigation indicates the driver of a 2020 Dodge Ram truck was traveling NB on Jonesboro Rd and failed to negotiate the turn in the road. The vehicle left the roadway and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The accident investigations unit responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident. The investigation continues.  Please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.
