Lawn/Snow Removal Crew & Crew Lead We are an established construction & landscaping company with a reputation for quality looking for Lawn & Snow Removal Crew members and Crew Leads for seasonal and year round positions. Individuals must have at least 2 years labor experience with a strong work ethic. This position is for a highly motivated individual who can produce a high quality product with integrity while maintaining an appropriate pace of work in the crew they work with. This position does a competitive hourly rate with opportunity to move into crew lead positions- the faster you get the job and as the quality of craftsmanship improves, you will be compensated appropriately. We also offer mileage reimbursement. Motivated individuals that prove to be a good fit for this position will be asked to move from seasonal to year round positions. Promotion opportunities are available to crew lead; occasionally lawn crew members may be asked to assist in basic construction labor tasks such as demolition, material delivery, and dump runs. The right individual in these positions may be promoted to a carpenter’s apprentice in our deck building division. Following direction, ability to learn quickly and moral integrity are essential for this position. Qualifications: Requirements: - 2 year laborer experience - Ability to pass background checks and drug tests - Valid Driver’s License and insurance Preferred: - Experience mowing lawns and/or running a Plow truck -Work vehicle -Clean driving record Skills required: - Strong teamwork and communication skills - Sound knowledge of safety standards and procedures. - Effective time management skills - Ability to: - Mow, weed wack, fertilize lawns, and other landscape maintenance tasks -year round crew members will be asked to stay on for snow removal through the winter season - maintain a professional demeanor with clients and co-workers -Use basic landscape maintenance power tools effectively and safely -Keep up with physically demanding aspects of landscape work including the ability to lift 75+ Pounds, and be on your feet for 8+ hours a day Additional Abilities/ Skills Required For Crew Lead Position: -Crew Lead must be able to communicate effectively, teach crew members, constructively confront sub-par quality work - Supervise crew members, unskilled and semi-skilled workers - Explain and assign tasks to the project team - Communicate with clients about project progress, deadlines or concerns - Calculate the amount of labor, time, and materials needed for each project - Create and adjust project schedules accordingly - Order all materials needed for projects - Maintain accurate records of hours worked and work done by the team - Ensure that all work is done in a safe and orderly manner -Communicate with lawn operations manager about need for conflict resolution with clients and/or crew members Job responsibilities: - Perform all landscape snow removal and occasional construction labor duties required. -Perform basic construction labor tasks such as demolition, clean up, dump runs, and expediting materials to job site - Report to supervising lead carpenter, take direction and communicate effectively - Learn all aspects of the Lawn and snow removal process with the goal to soon be able to work independently as Crew Lead on your own projects with your own crew - Communicate with clients and coworkers professionally, including keeping up with the way you present yourself- ie dress professionally groom to be well kept - Anticipate your next task and communicate to lead when you need something to do, if you’re clocked in you need to be moving, working. - Maintain accurate records of hours worked and work done by the team - Ensure that all work is done in a safe and orderly manner -Maintain a healthy work environment, slander and inappropriate complaining/language against clients, coworkers, management, or the company as a whole will not be tolerated. Constructive criticism and conflict resolution with leaders and coworkers is welcomed and encouraged when done with respect at the proper time.
