Job Description
We are seeking several live-in ranch hands that can operate farm equipment, move and care for horses, stock feed, load product for feed store customers, all kinds of nitty gritty ranch work.
Alaska Horse Ranch is an all-around equestrian facility, Trail rides throughout 240 acres of Alaskan wilderness, lessons in both English and Western disciplines, horse training and boarding, and a daily operating feed store.
Provided Group bunkhouse is a newly remodeled 4-bedroom 2 bath bunk house. Each bedroom has a locking door. Also complete with laundry facility, large deck, sauna, BBQ and firepit. Pool on the way. Overlooks the Mat-Su Valley with no neighbors in sight, just true Alaskan wilderness. NOTE: this is a shared housing facility.
Duties to include:
• Daily farm chores, early in the morning and late in the evening
• Loading hay by hand and with tractor
• Stall cleaning
• Help with livestock
• Moving and stocking feed
• Building and Fixing fences
• Trail ride guide if you are a rider
• Watering and feeding livestock
• etc.
Job requirements:
• This is a permanent year-round position at mile 53 of the Parks Highway
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must arrive to work on time
• No excessive facial piercings or inappropriate visible tattoos, or piercings must be removed for work.
• A can-do attitude
• Animal oriented mindset
• Not afraid of getting dirty while having fun
• Must be able to lift at least 60 lbs
• Must be able to dress appropriately for ALL weather types
• Experience with horses and livestock is preferred
