Job Title: Building & Grounds Tradesperson Location Albany NY Reports To: Director of Operations FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay Rate Hourly Summary: Maintains buildings, grounds, and fixtures by performing the following duties. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Operates and maintains equipment to include, trucks, ride-on cleaning equipment, trash cans, water units, weed eaters, hedge trimmers, and various hand tools in accordance with operating and safety procedures. * 2. Operates standard software to include: Mobile phone, online calendar, printers, digital cameras, etc.* 3. Cleans grounds and removes litter.* 4. Repairs fences, gates, walls, and walks. * 5. Maintains cleaning supplies. * 6. Monitors buildings & grounds, and removes litter to ensure a clean presentation. 7. Removes weeds, leaves, and trash throughout the day. * 8. Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawnmower, spreader, and snow removal equipment. 9. Checks oil and fuel in company vehicles/machines and cleans machines between jobs. 10. Calculates all fuel usage of vehicles and equipment via spreadsheet database and photo inventory. 11. Adheres to time clock procedures, safety rules and regulations, equipment operation, maintenance, and proper landscape procedures in accordance with company policy. 12. Reports the needs for major repairs, emergency maintenance, and environmental hazards immediately. 13. Maintains excellent customer relations with all district members. Education/Experience: High School degree, equivalent or relevant experience Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Math Ability: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of common computer software & websites Certificates and Licenses: Valid NYS Driver's License Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
