TL:DR- any interest in a group combining country, indie-folk and electronica? More details below-
I'm thinking of starting a Burlington-based group that may be out there, but it may also work. It'd be outlaw country/rockabilly combined with indie-folk/alt-country/electronica. This is based on some experimenting I've been doing with my guitars and MIDI through Ableton Live. It'd tend more towards the soothing than abrasive.
We'd play some originals, as well as reimagined/stretched versions of country songs (I'm most into Waylon Jennings/Willie Nelson but am flexible). I play guitar and sing, and program some effects. Any instruments (and additional vocals) welcome--this includes "traditional" country instruments as well as things like synth.
I've been playing guitar and studying music for 20 years, but haven't really played professionally. So I'm looking for similar people--you don't have to have 30 years of gigging to join, just need to be interested and able to play and learn (and able to be patient as we all learn together).
I'm happy to send clips of what I'm thinking.
