So I've had pretty limited luck here, yet I'm back for more...glutton for punishment? You be the judge. Me: Singer, aspiring songwriter and (very eventual) drummer, female. You: Guitarist (acoustic)-and anything else you bring to the table, bass, harmonium, melodica, washboard-ya-this should give a little insight. My influences: Chris Smither, Hurray for the Riff Raff, Gillian Welch, Dan Auerbach, Liz Cooper, Wilco, The Wood Brothers, Blake Mills, Nathaniel Rateliff, Mississippi Joh Hurt, Bessie Smith, Adriane Lenker, S. G. Goodman, Anders Osborne, Chuck Prophet, Conor Oberst, Nick Drake, Eliot Smith, Brandi Carlile, Sam Evian, Tre Burt-I should probably stop now....but could go on for quite some time. As you can see not once did I mention that I want to put together an 80s Rock Cover Band-and sing Stair Way to Heaven-I may get very ill-truly possible. Goal: Have fun!! An open mic here and there? An impromptu set somewhere? Who cares, really?! Eventually building a bigger sound with more (hopefully) vaccinated bodies. Start small. My strength is taking these mostly already obscure songs and turning them on their heads. I would eventually like to work towards originals. I love ALL music don't get me wrong-but pretty much anything you'd hear on a radio station...meh... I don't freaking care how old you are, 18-70; how many appendages you have or don't. All I ask is that you are genuine, maybe a lil quirky and have a raw and natural proclivity for wanting to jam and make some music, in general. Somewhat of an understanding of your instrument gets you a gold star for your forehead. Disclaimer: I am NOT looking to be Americas next Rock Star-god forbid. So, if this is your ultimate goal-please move on. I however, derive great pleasure in singing and connecting musically. Oh-and I'm pretty cool from what I've heard. No hard drugs please. And yes, I can share a couple clips with you if you'd like-honeslty not looking for a whole lot of back and forths-time is too precious.
