GENERAL FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Specialist performs numerous skilled and semi-skilled tasks to maintain equipment, facility and grounds, to provide a well-maintained operation for members and staff. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three years experience as maintenance specialist or carpenter and working knowledge and skills related to position. Electrician or HVAC Certified and Certified Pool Operator strongly preferred. Apply on line here: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: 1) PERFORMS repairs and preventative maintenance of equipment and facility which may include: swimming pools, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical and mechanical at all branches. REPORTS major problems to Director of Facilities. 2) MAINTAINS chemical levels in all pools to meet state and county regulations; PERFORMS daily testing, back washing, mixing and disposal of hazardous chemicals. 3) PERFORMS custodial functions as needed. 4) SETS UP and REPAIRS equipment. 5) MAINTAINS inventory of equipment and supplies; PLACES orders and PURCHASE as needed. 6) BUILDS and MAINTAINS a high standard of customer service for all members. 7) PERFORMS all other duties as assigned
