Colony Display is searching for qualified Carpenter(s) to cut, fabricate, and assemble retail home improvement displays at our production facility in Batavia, IL. Successful candidates will be energetic, contribute to the positivity of working in a team environment, and have an eye for details that will meet our national client’s production expectations. Candidates must be organized, nimble, and self-motivated who excel at working with little supervision. The role requires great hand dexterity to operate a gamut of hand tools, types of saws, power tools, and interpret blueprints (or schematics). Safe works sites and safe use of tools are priority number one. The ideal candidate and their skill sets are imperative to deliver quality store displays that enhance the consumer’s shopping experience for our clients. • Assemble and take apart retail displays including cabinets and additional fixtures. • Measure, cut, and install crown molding and wall trim. • Ensure each display built for clients meet our Company and client expectations. • Participate as a contributor at implementing process improvements to workflow to reduce cost or time to delivery of products. • Support additional areas of the business as delegated by peers or members of leadership. • Adapt to changing project deadlines, production guidelines, or schedules to meet our clients or organizational needs. • Promote safety and organization by maintaining an organized workspace. These are illustrative duties, and the job holder will be expected to become involved in a range of work to enable the production personnel to respond effectively to the requirements of the Company. • 2+ years of carpentry experience with the ability to use the tools of the trade. • Basic math and measuring skills with the keen ability to read a measuring tape. • Intermediate level of experience using general carpentry tools, drills, and impacts. • Experience reading blueprints to get a complete understanding of dimensions, materials, installation methods, and the mechanical inner working of the product being assembled. • Experience working in a manufacturing and production-based environment. • Embrace safety and quality standards are at the forefront of our culture. • Contribute to our success by crafting solutions to improve safety, quality, and efficiency. • Keen ability to manage time and prioritize multiple projects based on deadline and business needs. • Detail oriented and ability to analyze or problem solve. • Effective written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to lift 50 lbs. (23kg), stand, bend, kneel, stoop, up to 10 hours per day. • Bilingual in Spanish and English is outstanding!
