PLEASE DO NOT APPLY WITHOUT A COVER LETTER We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced part-time Gardener to join our team approximately 24-30 hours per week. Our work week runs Monday - Thursday, with opportunities for additional hours on Fridays and Saturdays. Shifts run approximately 6-8 hours, starting at 8am. We service the areas of Arvada, Lakewood, Wheatridge, Applewood, and Golden. This team member would assist in maintaining properties and would be able to work independently within a couple of weeks of hiring. Attention to detail is critical, as well as time management and big-picture thinking. Being a part of this team consists of relaying and executing supervisor directions for properties, and when needed, thinking on the fly to be as efficient and helpful to the client as possible to get the property looking great. This person will work with the Operations Manager regarding how the time will be spent to execute the items on the to-do list, and be able to assist and support the other Gardeners as much as possible. The Gardener will report to the Operations Manager to convey problems that arise, client requests, and helpful notes for properties when priorities are recognized. This person will keep to the schedule as much as possible. Our season runs from March/April to November/December, depending on weather conditions. Spring and Fall cleanups include activities such as cutting back certain dead plants and raking/cleaning up dead leaves and plant material from beds and lawns. Must provide own transportation and possess a valid driver’s license. Reimbursement is provided for work-related mileage and phone usage. Must be able to commit to working the full-season. Responsibilities: • COMPLY WITH COVID SAFETY MANDATES -- wear a mask while on job sites, keep your distance, wash your hands, and take safety precautions as a condition of employment. • Support fellow Gardeners and Operations Manager in executing client priorities. • Reporting questions, priorities, and client concerns to Operations Manager. • Managing time at properties and keeping to the schedule. • Assisting other Gardeners in completing assigned tasks at properties. • Thorough weeding. • Deadheading and trimming. • General yard cleanup. • Spring and Fall cleanup activities. • Client interaction—provide a friendly and professional atmosphere for our customers and staff. Requirements: • Prior experience REQUIRED (1 year professional or 3 years personal). • Ability to take direction and keep a "beginner's mind". • Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with fellow staff and clients. • Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license. • Willingness to submit to a background check. • Passion for plants! • Working knowledge of annuals, perennials, shrubs, and weeds REQUIRED. • Impeccable work ethic and sense of HUSTLE. • Time management and attention to detail. • Positive attitude and willingness to learn. Physical Expectations: • This is a physically strenuous job; be prepared to work hard in sometimes very hot or cold temperatures. • Stamina and physical strength; must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, lift, have tensile strength, etc. for hours at a time.
