Black Space is a community and cultural healing circle of emotional emancipation and connection facilitated by Dr. Lia Knox. Black Space is an in-person space dedicated to encouraging the mental wellness of Black and Brown Womxn, Black and Brown LGBTQIA+, and Black and Brown Mxn. These sessions will start promptly at their scheduled times, so please arrive 10mins prior. Each participant will recieve a small plant donated by Maranta Plant Shop. Black & Brown WOMXN: 10:00AM- 12:00PM (Please arrive 10mins Prior) Black & Brown LGBTQIA+: 12:30PM- 2:30PM (Please arrive 10mins Prior) Black & Brown MXN: 3:00PM- 5:00PM (Please arrive 10mins Prior) This group session will be led by Dr. Lia A. Knox. Dr. Knox received her Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisconsin and her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Jackson State University in Jackson, Mississippi. Dr. Knox, a Licensed Professional Counselor and CEO of Knox behavioral Health Solutions, is often presented as an expert behavioral health consultant on various local and national television and radio programs. She was the “Resident Therapist” and “Web Doctor” for the magazine entitled “GIRLFRIENDS Health Guide for Women of Color” and has also been featured as a contributing author in “UMOJA” magazine, referenced in JET Magazine (2012), and several other professional publications. Dr. Knox is the author of “The Use of Media by African American Women to Acquire Mental Health Knowledge” (2006). Dr. Knox is a motivating, humorous, and energetic public speaker. She provides mental wellness trainings as well as educational workshops for community and corporate organizations throughout the United States and abroad.
