PART-TIME PORTER NEEDED IMMEDIATELY

Part-time porter needed for Condo/Coop building in Uptown Manhattan/Harlem area. Looking for someone who lives nearby and has experience as a porter in residential buildings. Must be able to start work immediately and adhere to a strict work schedule. Schedule must be followed with same days and hours every week. Only applicants with resumes will be considered. Typical porter position responsibilities include but are not limited to: -Sorting of garbage and recycling according to DSNY rules -Bagging and putting garbage and recycling to the street curb on pick-up days after 4pm as per DSNY regulations -Mopping of all halls, stairways, and common areas (gym, storage room, community room, etc.) at least twice a week -Sweeping of all halls, stairways, and common areas (gym, storage room, community room, etc.) daily -Wiping down and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces such as doorknobs, elevator buttons, gym equipment, intercom, etc. daily. -Cleaning all of glass windows, surfaces, and mirrors daily -Disinfecting and cleaning of elevators daily -Sweeping and washing down of front sidewalk and entrance area, courtyards, roof, and any other exterior areas as needed -Picking up any debris or litter on the property, interior and exterior daily -Removal of snow and ice from property and must be available to come immediately during snowfall. -Must be on call 24/7 and available to come at a moments notice in case of an emergency. (Will be paid additional hours for any emergency calls during off-hours) -Changing light bulbs, smoke alarms, air fresheners, etc. as needed -Daily visual inspection of the property to check for any damage, leaks, broken fixtures, etc. -Daily check in with the property manager and constant communication for building issues This building has very friendly residents who are looking for a hard worker who has a genuine respect for the job and treats people with respect and kindness. Being a porter requires daily interactions with residents and therefore we are looking for someone with communication and people skills as well as experience in the physical work involved with being a porter. Must have a smart cell phone that is able to send and receive pictures and videos.
