The Nutrition Site Manager is responsible for the management and sanitation of the meal service area; congregate and home delivered meals program; documentation of participant activities at the meal site as well as the serving of meals to congregates daily (Monday-Friday); packing meals for homebound participants; and preparation of meals according to menus approved by the Parish of Jefferson. This position reports to the Nutrition Supervisor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Maintain and deliver, as required, all records, daily receipt logs, written and telephone reports; i.e. calling office for meal count changes. Responsible for coordinating all nutrition volunteers. Assist driver in keeping records of meal delivery and mileage reports. Maintain a harmonious relationship with volunteers, participants, and co-workers. Coordinate with transportation and facility workers. Together with a volunteer, total the participant contributions and record signatures, secure all contributions and keep confidential. Responsible for turning in all money and reports to the nutrition office. Making sure that the nutrition site is kept clean. Maintaining the sanitation requirements of the tables and Home Delivered meal chests. Food service responsibilities include checking quantity of meals; documenting shortages, quality and temperature of food. Check thermometers monthly for accuracy. Assure that meals are sent out in approved chests and that all congregate meals are eaten on site. Updating client profile sheets and orientation sheet; daily reservation and attendance logs. Keep files current and distribute materials. Attend all Nutrition Site Manager meetings. Quarterly meetings are mandatory. General Duties and Responsibilities: Adhere to all JCOA Guidelines, Personnel Policies and Nutrition Procedures as well as Health Department Rules and Emergency Procedures. Maintain a first aid kit and complete incident reports as needed. Attend training offered by JCOA. Qualifications: Ability to deliver meals is mandatory Ability to secure and work with volunteers. Genuine concern for the elderly; show mature judgment and self-motivation. Ability to work cooperatively with co-workers and clients. Must be able to exercise good judgment and initiative in dealing with older individuals. Knowledge, experience and ability in handling food preparation equipment and food preparation tasks. Able to perform assigned duties in a timely manner and meet deadlines. Complete records as needed. Able to pass criminal background check prior to employment, and annually thereafter. Supervisory Responsibilities: The site manager is responsible for supervising the Delivery Drivers. They are also responsible for maximizing the use of volunteers at the site who are directly assisting with assignments associated with the Nutrition Department. Education and/or Experience: High School graduate or equivalent. Yes, all safety precaustions are being followed as outlined by the Governor's Office of Elderly Affairs.
