The main focus will be clay in Craft Camp this week. Campers will learn several techniques in clay and glazing. The main focus will be clay in Craft Camp this week. Campers will learn several techniques in clay and glazing. They’ll learn about the firing process and about the chemistry involved in clay, glazes, and firing. We’ll keep things fun and engaging by adding other craft mediums to our mainly clay pieces… so found objects, objects from nature, wood, and glass. Campers will hone the very tactile skills and dexterity that it takes to work with clay. Sensory exploration, craftsmanship, creativity, and patience (sigh!) all come into play when working with clay. Students make projects to take home. This camp is recommended for school-age children 6yrs and up. Projects and depth of ceramics exploration and learning are matched up to the children’s age/ability, and we’ll break into groups of similar age.
