Join us at the table for this tribute to an iconic performer.
Singing guitarist Trini Lopez rose from the ghetto of Dallas TX to become an International Superstar rubbing shoulders with the Beatles, Princess Grace Kelly and the Rat Pack after being discovered in Los Angeles' Nightclub "PJ's" by Frank Sintara.
His 1963 Live record album "Trini Lopez at PJs" topped the charts all over the world producing hits "If I Had a Hammer'', "Lemontree" and "La Bamba"; launching the Folk Rock craze a year before Bob Dylan picked up an electric guitar.
He went on to appear on the small and big screens with everybody from Johnny Carson, Carol Burnett, Chuck Berry, Merv Griffin, Hugh Hefner, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Junior, to Lee Marvin and Jim Brown in "The Dirty Dozen" film.
Trini spent his later retirement years living in Palm Springs and recently became the subject of the Award Winning documentary film "My Name Is Lopez" produced by his friends, neighbors and band mates Joan and Gary Gand of the Gand Band.
To celebrate his amazing life on what would have been his 84th birthday weekend, PS Underground and the Gand Band have teamed up to bring you a Live "Greatest Hits" performance of Trini's musical career along with interviews from the documentary all rolled into one big dinner party.
