WALPOLE, MA — A Bronx man was sentenced to 10 years in prison Friday for his role in a 2019 Walpole drug deal. Yamel Cuevas Gonzalez, 35, pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl, as well as distributing and possessing with intent to distribute 400 grams or more of fentanyl. "Over the course of approximately six months in 2019, Gonzalez made three separate sales of fentanyl to an individual in Massachusetts," a release from the U.S. Attorney's Office says. "Gonzalez drove to Massachusetts from New York and met the individual at a pre-arranged location, where they exchanged drugs for money." Federal agents surveilled the deal and made the arrest.
