TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury voters approved all but one article at the first night of town meeting Monday. The lone exception was withdrawn by its petitioner. The first night of town meeting covered mostly budgetary matters. Annual town meeting will resume Wednesday night to address zoning articles including a comprehensive zoning bylaw rewrite. Night one went briskly, with 32 articles passing, including the $122.9 million Fiscal Year 2022 budget. The only article that did not pass, article 28, was withdrawn. Article 28 would have changed the length of Planning Board terms from five years to three, matching other town offices. When the article was reached, petitioner Paige Impink rose to speak immediately. "On behalf of the many residents who have worked on researching this article, I respectfully withdraw it at this time," Impink said. She intends to bring it back at the next town meeting, giving residents and town officials more time to consider the measure, she said.
