"Like Father, Like Son" is an event with the youth in mind - in the hope to speak their language and meet them where they are today. This summer of 2021, providentially dedicated as the Year of Saint Joseph, patron of the Universal Church and protector of the family, Saint Raymond’s will be having the first, of what we hope to be many, Youth Conference aimed at speaking the language of our young people, meeting them where they are, and journeying with them through life. We strongly believe that the youth are not the future of the church, they are the present church now. Together as priests, our mission in Youth Ministry is, and always will be, to lead our teens closer to Christ. Last year was challenging for all of us, but we never stopped. If the pandemic has taught us something, it is that our youth need the light of Christ now more than ever. Scheduled on June 11 and 12, the Feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Memorial of the Immaculate of Mary, respectively, the theme of this in-person conference is “Like Father, like Son”, and will feature renowned speaker and beat box artist Paul J. Kim, Reverend Father Jimmy Macalinao, Very Reverend Father Lawrence D’Anjou, and His Excellency Most Reverend Bishop Michael Barber, SJ. Other than the safe, dignified and reverent celebrations of the Masses, extended hours of Confessions, and the youth-oriented talks and workshops, part of this two-day spiritual event will be various devotional activities like Praise and Worship, Eucharistic Procession, Overnight Adoration, Scriptural Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet.
