Description
PALMETTO, FL — The Manatee County Agricultural Museum, which is located at 1015 6th Street West in Palmetto, is once again welcoming visitors without appointments, the museum said in a news release.
The museum closed in March 2020 because of the coronavirus pandemic. It reopened last June with limited hours by appointment only.
The new hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The number of visitors will be limited to eight at one time.
Visitors must observe social distancing guidelines by staying 6 feet away from other guests and everyone over the age of 6 years old must wear a mask. Staff will wear masks in the common areas when visitors are present. Hand sanitizing stations are also available throughout the museum.
New exhibits at the Agricultural Museum include "Underwater Farms," which examines aquaculture in Manatee County, and "An Icy Enterprise," an exhibit about local commercial ice manufacturing.
While exploring the museum, check out the collection's 1924 Model-T in the Farm Shop & Garage and the 1950 Crosley Farm-o-Road.
