All individuals arrested or charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. REPORTS BRANDISHING, 2021-04300124, EB Washington Boulevard at I-395. At approximately 3:11 p.m. on April 30, officers conducted a traffic stop after observing the driver operating erratically, shifting lanes and breaking repeatedly before stopping abruptly on the shoulder of the roadway. Upon approaching the vehicle, the officer observed a firearm on the driver's lap which was halfway out of the holster and facing towards him. The officer gave the driver commands and took possession of the firearm. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the driver had a suspended license and the vehicle was displaying improper tags. Davon Eady, 26, of Alexandria, VA was arrested and charged with Brandishing a Firearm and Assault on Law Enforcement Officer. Virginia Uniform Summonses were issued for Suspended License, Improper Registration, Failure to Maintain Lane, Following too Closely and Failure to Wear Seatbelt. BURGLARY, 2021-04300093, 800 block of N. Glebe Road. At approximately 12:15 p.m. on April 30, police were dispatched to the report of a trespasser inside a hotel. Upon arrival, the responding officer located the suspect inside a room and determined he was not authorized to be there. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the suspect allegedly retrieved a master key and entered and rifled through four rooms. Nothing else was reported stolen. Larry Burnett, 39, of Wilmington, NC was arrested and charged with Burglary and Receiving Stolen Goods. ROBBERY, 2021-05020118, 1100 block of S. Hayes Street. At approximately 4:35 p.m. on May 2, police were dispatched to the report of an assault just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that the male victim was inside a store when he was assaulted by 2 – 4 male suspects. Following the assault, the suspects fled the scene on foot and the victim determined his car keys were missing. The victim was treated on scene by medics for injuries considered non-life threatening. Officers conducted a search for the suspect with negative results. The suspects are described as 2 – 4 tall, Black males. The investigation is ongoing. ROBBERY, 2021-05020148, 800 block of S. Frederick Street. At approximately 7:39 p.m. on May 2, police were dispatched to the report of a robbery just occurred. Upon arrival, it was determined that approximately 5 – 10 minutes prior, the female suspect was waiting outside as the male victim, a food delivery driver, arrived to make a delivery. The suspect demanded money and when the victim refused, she brandished a knife and attempted to slash towards him. The victim was able to grab the suspect's arm, during which he suffered a small laceration. The suspect fled the scene on foot when the victim told her he was calling police. Officers established a perimeter and searched the area with negative results. The suspect is described as an unknown race female with a light complexion, approximately 5'3" tall and wearing a dark colored hoodie, grey pants, sandals and a white mask.
