Description
Join the Stonewall National Museum and Archives for a tour of our latest exhibition, Don't Ask Do Tell.
Executive Director Hunter O'Hanian will give an exclusive tour of SNMA's latest exhibition Don't Ask Do Tell.
“Don’t ask, don’t tell” was the official US policy on military service by gays, bisexuals, and lesbians, instituted by the Clinton Administration on February 28, 1994, when Department of Defense Directive 1304.26 issued on December 21, 1993, took effect, lasting until September 20, 2011.
Drawing upon materials from SNMA’s Archives, this exhibition will explore the LGBTQ community’s response to the controversial policy before, during and after the seventeen years it was in effect.
Opening Friday, May 7, 2021 from 6 pm – 7 pm in the George Hester Gallery. On exhibition until Friday, July 16, 2021.
We are happy to report our first opening in over a year. Broward County has allowed Stonewall to have up to 75 people at our openings. Masks and social distancing rules will be observed.
To attend you will need to register for a free ticket, which is good for two. Tickets will be available to the first 35 people who sign up here.
