Bringing 44 years of experience to the stage, Barbara’s trademark southern drawl and observational humor take audiences on a comedic rollercoaster and leave them feeling like they just had a tall glass of lemonade -- cool and refreshing! Barbara’s analytical genius caters to any audience from New York to Los Angeles to Florida and all states in-between. She regularly surprises younger audiences with her sharp opinions and comedic perspectives. From her time as a Marine Corps reservist in Desert Storm to facing a classroom as a teacher in the public school system, her quick wit and impeccable timing have made her an undeniable and truly unforgettable comedic force. Early influence by comedy greats such as Moms Mabley, Carol Burnett, Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, Pigmeat Markum and others helped to shape Barbara Carlyle as an entertainer. As she continued to perform in numerous venues across the country, she also had opportunities to take her signature brand of comedy to many international audiences such as those in Jamaica, England, Germany and Amsterdam. It was in Seoul, South Korea where she first met Tiffany Haddish! Barbara has appeared on BET’s Comicview, Def Comedy Jam, Laugh N Yo’ Face, Uptown Comic and Def Comedy Jam 25. Originally trained in theatre and acting while obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature, she also appeared in Gordon Parks’ film Solomon Northrop’s Odyssey. Barbara’s comedic tags about relationships, sex and money have audiences leaving the show still murmuring punchlines and catchey phrases.
