SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — The San Mateo County Event Center is hosting mass COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week for anyone who lives or works in San Mateo County. No appointment is necessary.
According to the county health department's Twitter, the center is open Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and offering Pfizer vaccines to those age 16 and up. On Wednesday, it will open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and offer Moderna vaccines to those age 18 and up.
TIMING CHANGE: Tuesday's Pfizer clinic will run from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm.— San Mateo County Health (@SMCHealth) May 3, 2021 The event center reopened last week as a mass vaccination site as the county's vaccine supply has ramped up recently. Along with San Francisco International Airport, the center had served as a mass vaccination site earlier in the rollout, but those operations stopped due to limited supply and the county's decision to focus on targeted, smaller vaccine clinics.
The event center, which is drive-through only, can administer approximately 4,000 doses a day, according to the county. The county will also continue to offer targeted vaccine clinics for communities in North Fair Oaks, East Palo Alto, San Mateo, Daly City, El Granada and Half Moon Bay.
As of Monday, more than 73 percent of eligible residents in the county had been vaccinated.
