ORANGE COUNTY, CA — Orange County Sheriff's Department officers did their part for local Special Olympics last week, the department reports. Under the Six Points For Kids program, the department gathered 20 volleyballs, 20 soccer balls, and 195 golf balls to donate to the area's Special Olympics program, a spokesperson said.
Six Points For Kids provides Orange County Sheriff's Department personnel with opportunities to make an immediate, positive impact in our community, they said.
It's all part of their "Doing Good In Green" program.
"Six Points For Kids is a deputy-driven program of the Orange County Sheriff's Department," a spokesperson writes on their website. The program was started by front-line deputies to give back to children and teens in our local community.
"The goal of SPFK is to equip kids for success," they say. "It achieves its mission by partnering with various local charities and holding fundraising events."
The Orange County Sheriff's Department encourages all personnel to get involved and make an immediate, identifiable, positive impression in the lives of needy children in our community.
