PROVIDENCE, RI — Two big names in national politics will come to the Ocean State this week: Vice President Kamala Harris and recently-departed Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo, now the U.S. Commerce Secretary.
The visit will center around small businesses and how they factor into the federal American Jobs Plan and American Rescue Plan, Raimondo said, part of President Joe Biden's plan to "build back better" after the coronavirus pandemic. These businesses play a "pivotal role," Raimondo said.
Harris and Raimondo will hold an event in Providence Wednesday, The Boston Globe reported, though details have not yet been announced.
Looking forward to joining the @VP next week in my home state of Rhode Island to discuss the pivotal role small businesses have in America and how the #AmericanJobsPlan & the #AmericanRescuePlan will help all of us build back better than before. pic.twitter.com/47SCTtXuYj— Secretary Gina Raimondo (@SecRaimondo) April 30, 2021
