Description

Mandalay Bay, affectionately called Mandy, is a 13 week old Shepherd mix puppy who weighs approximately 15lbs. She shows promising signs of being affectionate, playful, and incredibly sweet; she just needs the right person to improve her confidence and show her what it feels like to be loved unconditionally. If you want to be that person for Mandy, she is the pup for you! She is good with dogs, cats, and kids. When Mandy initially meets people, she is typically very shy. In fact, she stayed in her crate for the first few hours with her foster family. She is generally very sensitive to loud noises and sudden movements. But don’t worry, while Mandy will take her time to open up, it will happen eventually if you are patient and trusting. Once trust is established, her personality blossoms. She is also quite playful and LOVES her toys. Her favorite part of the day is playing with her balls and toys in the backyard. She shows a lot of potential for being an outdoorsy dog that can join her people on hikes once she gains confidence. She also shows so much potential for having a vibrant personality; she just needs someone to help her overcome her fears. In between pets and following her foster people around, Mandy is working on some basic training. She is working primarily on house training because she tends to have accidents. She is working with potty pads currently and is establishing a schedule. Her forever family will need to continue her training and solidify her skills. Similarly, she does display a lot of typical puppy behaviors. She does chew but is very easily redirected to chew toys. She will benefit from a home with another confident adult dog to show her the ropes and an experienced dog owner. Mandy is dog-friendly and lived in Mexico with other dogs. It is with other dogs that she finds confidence the most. Therefore that will be a priority when placing her. Mandy is only an option for those who have had a dog in the last three years, and priority will be given to those who currently have a confident dog. If there are children in the household, they need to be over the age of 10.
