Description
General Purpose: Serves as a resource for the residents and staff at St. Mary-on-the-Lake, and will perform a combination of tasks to maintain the facilities and grounds. Reports To: St. Mary-on-the-Lake Facilities Manager Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists the Facilities Manager to identify and address maintenance needs. Performs maintenance tasks, including pressure washing, cleaning gutters, carpet cleaning, roof repairs, painting, plumbing repairs, window washing, and moving furniture. Ensures all work requests are completed in a timely manner and reflect quality workmanship. Ensures regular communication and follow-up with Facilities Manager, staff, and residents regarding maintenance needs and status of maintenance requests. Ensures buildings/grounds consistently project a clean, neat and professional appearance. Assists with maintenance and repair of CSJP buildings, grounds and equipment including preventive maintenance, as required. Leaf blowing, mowing, pool maintenance, minor mechanical repairs. Assists with emergency repairs and maintenance including evening and weekend emergency calls. Assists with special event set-ups as requested. Participate in quality improvement activities/training as assigned. Attends and participates in educational activities, in-service training, and staff meetings. Assisting with maintenance of all Community properties. Dusting, mopping, and sanitizing. Other Non-Essential Duties: Transport one or more sisters to another location as necessary. Assist with ordering supplies as requested. Perform security duties when requested. Driving errands as requested. Minimum Requirements: Values: This position must be held by an individual who shares the values of peace and justice for the poor and who is committed to learning about, supporting, and respecting those in the vowed life of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. There is no other background that can substitute for this requirement. Education: No educational requirements. Experience: Minimum one year experience in related facilities and ground maintenance is required, along with a valid WA Driver’s license with safe driving record. Other background that may substitute for the first requirement is listed below. There is no substitute for the drivers’ license and safe driving record requirements. Or other background demonstrating application of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish job requirements. Ability to make mathematical calculations necessary to repair and maintain mechanical equipment or to calculate maintenance supply needs. Must be able to relate positively and favorable to residents and work cooperatively with co-workers. Basic understanding of computer technology, including email use. Commitment to learn about and be sensitive to the vowed life in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. Job Tasks Include: Climbing ladders. Cleaning restrooms. Unplugging clogged toilets. Cleaning drains. Sanitizing, dusting, and cleaning. Job Type: Full-time Pay: $16.32 - $20.00 per hour
