Job Title: Material Handler Description: This entry-level material handler will be responsible for lifting up to 50 lbs, operating a forklift, standing on feet all day, adhere to safety, and daily cleaning. Shift: 2nd 3:30p-midnight Pay: temp to perm, $13 per hour plus $1 upon hire Location: Lancaster, SC Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Ability to read and comprehend work instructions. Ability to communicate information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Dependable and punctual Ability to lift 20-75 lbs Ability to walk, stand or kneel for long periods of time Must be able to tolerate exposure to lint, chemicals, and heat Must comply with safety, quality, and production requirements and instructions Ability to learn new skills and analyze Responsibilities depending on position could include: Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders. Documents materials and supplies disposition by recording units delivered and location of units. Prepares finished stock for shipment by identifying, pulling, packing, crating, loading, and securing products. Maintains material-handling equipment by completing pre-use inspections; making operator repairs.
