Description
I’d been looking I think for god..
everywhere
So that by the end of the day I didn’t even know anymore where I was
Nowhere
Somewhere the Grand Canyon was nearby
A testament
It hadn’t changed
It was deep
I was just there I’m sure
And too not t long ago.. I waded into the river
And again back out
The desert
God where are you?
My spirit was whispering tired
Can’t you help me from this drought?
And somewhere in there
On the long road
The sun let up
As twilight fell
The long and winding road
Trying to escape hell
I could breath then
A train rumbled on through
Steady and true
Like the canyon
Consistent
Nothing new
The evening soft and relenting
As the moon came slowly too
Like the train
On schedule
Like the canyon
Ever the same
And the heavens looked down at me here
Repenting
