CARLSBAD, CA — Police are investigating a bomb threat Monday at Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad. A "suspicious" phone call to the resort on Costa Del Mar Road prompted the investigation, according to the Carlsbad Police Department. "Following the prescribed security procedures, we are verifying safety at the resort," the department said on Twitter. "It is important to be thorough and this will take a little time." Police asked people to stay clear of the area. Using an abundance of caution and the prescribed protocol, we are investigating a bomb threat based on a suspicious phone call to the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa.
