Description
TUCSON, AZ — The Pascua Yaqui Tribe is opening its allotment of COVID-19 vaccines to both tribal and non-tribal members later this week.
The allotments include doses of the Pfizer vaccine for those 16 and older, in addition to Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines for those 18 years of age and older, the tribe said.
The allotment openings will begin to be available to non-tribal members Thursday at one of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's drive-thru vaccination sites.
"We want as many people as possible to be able to get the life-saving vaccine, so we're extending our supply to our greater Tucson community," said Chairman of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, Peter Yucupicio. "We've had great success with our vaccine rollout so far and are eager to continue this effort."
The free, walk-up COVID-19 vaccination clinics are open from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the AVA parking lot at Casino Del Sol.
The tribe is also partnering with the Federal Emergency Management Agency to host the mobile COVID-19 vaccine site at Casino Del Sol from Saturday to Monday and June 4-6, from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. each day.
