Job Description for Position of Building and Maintenance Technician First Presbyterian Church of San Luis Obispo I. Purpose To clean, maintain, and repair all church buildings and property as well as keeping the building secure. II. Primary Responsibilities as Directed by Church Administrator A. Apply basic knowledge of repair and replacement of general fixtures, including but not limited to: doors, windows, walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, furniture, appliances, and cabinetry. B. Clean and maintain interior of all church buildings. C. Maintain outside areas as directed: including trash removal, and overall cleanliness. D. Keep building secure when on duty. E. When on duty before leaving for the day, lock doors and windows when the facilities are not open to the public. F. Report any repairs and/or concerns. G. Other duties as assigned by Buildings & Maintenance Technician and/or Head of Staff. III. Core Competencies A. Must be able to work Sundays B. Must have valid Driver's License and clean driving record for the past two years. C. Ability to initiate, self-direct and complete a project without direct supervision. D. Ability to respond to emergency situations and malfunctions. E. Capable of moving and lifting at least 75 pounds. F. Ability to be flexible with work schedule. G. Basic knowledge of professional cleaning methods and materials, mechanical, electrical, heating, painting, and plumbing.
