Compensation Package: Hourly wage of $12.00-$15.00 1-week unpaid vacation Company discounts on tools, clothing, and safety equipment Opportunities for overtime and additional hours Employment Status Full-Time Seasonal 30+ hours per week Objective: Enable the crew to work more efficiently and complete projects on time by providing the shinglers with required materials as needed without being asked. Assist in set-up and tear down of work site. Remove roofing materials from the roof deck, while maintaining a clean and safe work environment Balance individual and team priorities. Education and Experience: Completion of Secondary School Diploma or equivalent Background in construction is considered an asset Duties and Responsibilities: Reports to Foreman, Production Manager Follows oral instruction to ascertain materials, equipment, or debris to be moved Loads/unloads materials and equipment into vehicles, installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit Conveys materials from storage or work sites to the designated area Set-up tarps, plywood, and other protection around customer's property Strips roof of old shingles, underlayment, and flashings as required Lifts heavy objects by hand, and cleans work areas Sweeps and shovels loose material and debris Loads dump trailer evenly with shingle debris Adherence to all company policies and OSHA safety requirements Skills and Qualifications: Must have or be willing to get own tool pouch, hammer, utility knife, chalk line, 25' tape measure, safety harness, rope, lanyard, and anchor Must have or be willing to get fall safety certification Must have reliable transportation to and from work (rides are not reliable) Demonstrate ability to read, speak and write English. (bilingualism is an asset) Ability to add and subtract 2 digit numbers, multiply and divide by 10's and 100's Demonstrate ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed instructions Teamwork skills including: ability to balance team and individual responsibilities, openness to others views, gives and welcomes feedback, contribute to a positive team spirit, puts success of team above own interests, able to build morale and group commitments to goals and objectives. Physical Demands & Work Environment: Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with arms, climb, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. Ability to repeatedly lift up to 80lbs. Distance and peripheral vision, and depth perception Ability to work in high, precarious places Works and communicates well in a noisy and loud environment Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification.
