Pomponio Ranch, LLC (PR) operates ranching and equestrian businesses out of two locations. Our Pomponio Ranch South location operates an equestrian facility in Rancho Santa Fe, CA, where it trains horses and riders for elite international horse show jumping competition. Karl Cook and Eric Navet are the two primary elite riders for Pomponio Ranch. The facility also accommodates third party horse boarders who keep and train their horses on site. Responsibilities include but not limited to: • Clean horse stalls, outside pens, turnout area, walker/ round-pen • Feed horses • Fodder feed and clean trays • Make feed for the next feeding, steaming including maintaining steamer, and hay cart • Load and unload packing show equipment • Maintenance and dragging of arena, round-pen, and jumps • Ensure horse barn, tacking area, pastures, water troughs, hay barn and surrounding areas are clean and dusted • Miscellaneous Ranch work • Assist with various duties at shows and when traveling with team Qualifications/Requirements: • At least 1-2 years of experience and knowledge of caring for equines is preferred • Knowledge of safe work practices around horses and other livestock • Experience in monitoring animal appearance/behavior and communicating any necessary information to superiors • Must have proof of authorization to work in the United States • Must be 18 years or older, and drug-free • Clear background check • Strong communication skills • Work effectively with minimal supervision, self-motivated and self-starter • Physical requirements o Ability to work outdoors, on uneven, slippery terrain in varying weather conditions with dust and allergens o Ability to twist, bend, kneel, climb and use hand tools as necessary o Ability to lift 80-100 lbs. • Strong commitment to teamwork • Ability to adhere to the organization's policies, procedures and regulations • Ability to adapt to changes throughout the day • Flexibility to work on weekends • Travel required for at least 22 weeks during the year, including potential for international travel
