There is a gracious couple that offers free hot meals to the needy every Sunday from 10am to 2pm up off of Grand ave and Parkview pl in the parking lot next to the Chevron gas station. I am one of those that they help and wanted to see if maybe I can help them out by reaching out to anyone willing to donate a cooked meal to approx 10-20 people so that this couple can get a break.
The wife wakes up early Sunday morning to make a completely homemade meal and has been doing so for a year and a half without missing a beat. All while she takes care of her husband who is wheelchair bound which is a burden unto itself. They also help the needy as much as they can through resources that most do not know are available to them. On top of just being very kind and offering words of assurance in the face of despair.
I've been trying to petition local restaurant business for donations, as far as catering, especially since it would be considered a tax write off and no money would be lost, but so far that hasn't happened.
If you, someone you know, or if you know a business that would be willing to volunteer, please reach out and let me know. Just trying to pay it forward to a couple of folks that deserve it. Thank you, and god bless.
