Description
Part time child care and light housework for a cheerful, loving 5 year old in a liberal East Arlington family.
Background:
Our child is a wonderful, loving 5 year old who loves music, dancing, singing, soccer, and giving hugs. She has had a complicated medical history, and is currently diagnosed with epilepsy and (very mild) cerebral palsy. She has very little fine motor control in her left hand and some general left side weakness, but she runs and plays like any other typically developing child her age.
Responsibilities:
Support physical and occupational therapy by providing physical (e.g. light tap on arm) and verbal reminders to work on skills throughout the day
Pick up from school at 2:30 and short walk home (beginning in September)
Taking child to activities, local playgrounds, playdates
Occasionally attend PT/OT and other appointments
Prepare snack and sometimes dinner or other meals for child
Child laundry; occasionally switching household laundry
Tidying up after child activities; tidying child’s bedroom and play room (including child in clean up and teaching her how to clean)
Cleaning up after meals (again, including child in these tasks is encouraged)
Comfort with administering seizure rescue medicine (our nanny of the past four years has never had to do this, but it is a possibility)
