We are seeking a working Lead Diesel Mechanic for our Chicago location. This position will be responsible for Supervision and coordinating shop activities and assists technicians in repairing and diagnostics on equipment. $3000 SIGN On BONUS ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Processes repair orders and parts orders- Ability to control Parts and Tire Inventory. • Repairs and services tractors, trailers and miscellaneous equipment as required. • Performs manual labor as required and trains and assists other technicians. • Possesses and demonstrates knowledge of air brake, suspension, drive train, and electrical systems. • Utilizes vehicle computer electronic systems to determine accurate course of repair- Working Knowledge of Mack, Paccar, and Navistar Software • Basic Computer Skills TMT experience a plus. • Performs minor or major engine and tank trailer repairs • Requires Class A CDL / Class 8 Wrecker Experience a plus! • Receives and carries out instructions by Fleet Service Manager(s). • Flexible schedule for on-call rotation. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Utilizes pertinent visual materials and equipment for the repair/diagnostics of diesel engines. • Move up to 50lbs and occasionally lift to 100 lbs. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Certification from a trade or technical college, minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience, or equivalent combination of training and experience.
