Job Description Landscaping maintenance and construction crew chief for small, all-organic, woman-owned, women-run, landscaping contractor - $500 bonus at 90 days for the right fit! Required: • Driver's license, good driving record • Ability to drive and back up a truck with trailer • 2 years experience in landscape, hardscape, and / or irrigation construction with leadership experience preferred • Speak and write fluent English • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work physically all day and in various weather conditions Any and all of the following would be excellent: • QWEL certified irrigation specialist • ICPI certified hardscape installation specialist • ISA certified arborist • Green industry Training certification (UNR Extension) • Permaculture design certification and training Responsibilities: This will be a working position – overseeing the crew while getting your hands into the soil Ensure the safety of the crew, the equipment, and the jobsite Ensure jobs are kept on schedule and on budget Produce daily job work sheets with accuracy Must be a thoughtful and effective team leader, encouraging the best from crew members by being an excellent example and encouraging them to find joy and success in their work Work with designers and estimators to implement jobs professionally, on time and within budget and translate that vision to the crew Have a holistic view of the job site, able to find and implement efficiencies in labor and materials Must have excellent follow through so that job sites are left clean, equipment in excellent condition, and tools and trailers organized for the next day. Willingness to work extra (overtime is paid) if the job calls for it. While strength and endurance are important, knowledge, experience, and attention to detail are even more important.
