Description
Six, 8week old Syrian hamsters looking for new homes. Some are long haired. All have been handled daily, will take treats from you and are super sweet and friendly. Slightly long post as I wanted to give some important hamster care information. If you have any questions about the pups (hamster babies) or how to look after a hamster please feel free to ask and I’d be very happy to help. I just want to find these sweet little babies brilliant homes!

No rehoming fee but you must provide photos of the set up/enclosures you’ll be keeping them in. Syrian hamsters are solitary animals and need a minimum cage size of 600square inches. A 50gallon storage tote/bin is a brilliant inexpensive cage option. This will give your hammie all the space it needs, even once an adult, to live a happy and healthy life. Walmart sells them for around $20.
Tote/bin cages are also really fun to decorate and accessorize. You can make your own hides in whatever color and shape you want with popsicle sticks from dollar tree and kid safe paint and glue.
Most pet shop cages are too small and WAY overpriced so don’t waste your money on them! Every hamster breed also needs a correctly sized wheel, for Syrians it’s recommend to be 12”. The Carolina storm bucket wheel is a great option and my personal favorite or the kaytee comfort wheel (there are others if you’d like more options I’m happy to help). Wire/mesh wheels shouldn’t be used as they can catch toe nails and rip them out. Flying saucer wheels are great for enrichment but shouldn’t be the only wheel as they can hurt their backs.
Avoid pine and cedar bedding as it messes with their respiratory system.
If you’d like any help putting together a hamster home or would like any information on hamster care etc please feel free to ask. I’m happy to talk you through anything needed.
