Do you want to set up a home studio, but not sure how to get started? This is the course for you! EMBRACE THE LIGHT! In this 2-hour class, we take you through some options that are easy and powerful to set up for a home studio. We'll look at the equipment needed to start a home studio, from backdrop to light stands to the kinds of lighting options you can choose from. We'll even take the time to have you bring your camera and experience some simple home setups that can give you dramatic, professional results in your own home. If there's one thing that will set you apart from other photographers, it could be this. Come and learn how with this fun, hands-on workshop from the Rockbrook pros that will send you on your way confident that you can set up a lighting studio at home. Topics Covered: A look at all the gear you need to look at in order to get the most out of a home studio. We'll look at different backdrops available. Strobe lighting and modifiers available. We'll look at off-camera flash using remote triggers.The class will discuss various lighting situations and how simple lighting set-ups can be used to improve your photography.Questions are good! Come prepared to ask questions and get them answered by our instructor. Stick around after the class when professional portrait photographer Chris Holtmeier gives a free discussion about the business of portrait photography from 5 to 6:30. Who Should Take This Class? This is for photographers at any level who want to build a home studio for practice, fun, or profit! Required Materials - A working DSLR or mirrorless camera ready-to-go. We will supply the lighting systems for use during class. *Attendees will be invited to the Rockbrook Camera EDU Facebook Group for continued education, conversation and community exclusive to Rockbrook Camera EDU students and instructors. It's a safe place to share, learn and grow! *Attendees will be invited to the Rockbrook Camera EDU Facebook Group About Your Instructor: Alan Holtmeier Alan Holtmeier is a Camera Specialist at Rockbrook Camera and is in his 20th year of providing service and support to area photographers. Alan has photographed professionally as a wedding and portrait photographer and especially enjoys working with artificial lighting. When not working at the store or photographing, Alan enjoys playing golf and playing with his two Corgi's, Winston and Schmidt. Covid-19 Update To keep everyone safe and healthy, this class is limited to 6 attendees with ample spacing. Our classroom and store are sanitized throughout the day and after each class. Hand sanitizer is available for use. As of August 11th, masks are required by City of Omaha ordinance - 42309. Due to the uncertain conditions surrounding Covid-19, classes may be canceled at the last minute. If a cancellation takes place, you will be notified and fully refunded.
