Photo Walk: Historic Old Market, Downtown Omaha

An opportunity to walk around the Old Market and “see” it in a new way. Let’s get together, talk, and have fun photographing some history. Let’s lace up our shoes, charge our cameras, and head out together for a themed photo walk In downtown Omaha. What is the theme? You’ll find out once you’re there! I’ll reveal the theme of the event, using the historic Old Market as inspiration. We’ll then walk around the area, taking photos, talking, asking questions, and getting some help along the way. Instructor Jerred Z will give some great tips for photography during our walk, and others are encouraged to chime in with tips of their own. We will start off at the West parking lot behind Kaneko, meet in a group to discuss the theme, then walk around the Old Market as a group while taking photos along the way. On June 12, we will re-convene at Rockbrook and check out each other’s photographs. This will allow us to celebrate our art and give each other encouragement and suggestions, all with positivity. Topics Covered: Our “theme” will help us define how we see the Old Market, and we’ll talk about interesting ways composition can help us get better photos. Everyone is encouraged to ask questions about their cameras and lenses, getting help from the instructor and everyone else in the group. Who Should Take This Class? Anyone! This is for brand new photographers, and any seasoned pros who want to get together, take pictures, meet new people, and have fun. The power in these “Photo Walks” is in the community we form while taking on the challenge of seeing things in new ways. This is powerful for any photographer! Required Materials Bring your camera, fully charged and ready to go.Payment for parking on your own. We are going to meet at Kaneko the West Kaneko parking lot, which is right next to a parking garage you can use, or you can use any street meter you’d like.
