Looking to adopt young dog

Hi, my wife and I would like to adopt a short-haired female puppy/young dog. Breed isn't important and we are flexible on size. I'm recently retired and we lost our last pup a couple years ago when she was 16 We have a fenced yard and the dog will be properly taken care of, a bit spoiled and live in the house Not against a "rehoming" fee but not interested in dealing with someone who is just dealing dogs for dollars Thank you -
